The role

As the Global IT Manager at Summize you will be responsible for overseeing and coordinating global IT strategy, operations, infrastructure and service delivery across our UK and US offices. You will be responsible for ensuring consistency, security, reliability and scalability of systems, whilst aligning IT initiatives with our business objectives.

Key responsibilities:

IT Strategy & Governance

  • Define and implement global IT strategy aligned with our business goals
  • Standardise IT policies, processes and architecture across our regions
  • Establish KPIs and SLAs for global IT performance and service delivery

Infrastructure & Operations

  • Oversee global network infrastructure, data centres, cloud services and enterprise systems
  • Handle service desk operations including password resets, user onboarding/offboarding, and day-to-day support tasks.
  • Maintain an up to date IT asset register and ensure all hardware is centrally managed, secured and standardised.
  • Manage user access controls by conducting regular permission reviews and maintaining audit trails to ensure access is appropriate and compliant
  • Ensure high availability, performance, and scalability of IT systems.
  • Lead global IT service management (ITSM), including incident, problem, and change management.
  • Contribute to completing InfoSec and client security questionnaires with accurate, timely responses.

Cybersecurity & Compliance

  • Own global IT security policy, controls, and incident response protocols.
  • Ensure network infrastructure meets security standards required for ISO and other international certifications.
  • Lead the implementation and accreditation process for SOC 2 compliance and maintain ongoing alignment with security frameworks.
  • Manage ISO audit processes and maintain continuous compliance readiness.
  • Manage global risk assessments and audits.
  • Oversee endpoint protection tools (e.g., antivirus), monitor scan results, respond to threats such as ransomware or malware, and update policies as needed.
  • Plan and execute cybersecurity awareness exercises (e.g., phishing simulations) and act on results to improve security posture.
  • Design, implement, and maintain secure remote access solutions, including VPN and Zero Trust architectures.

Team Leadership & Vendor Management

  • Lead distributed IT teams across regions.
  • Develop talent, set objectives, and ensure consistent training.
  • Oversee IT service providers, including ISPs, A/V vendors, hardware suppliers, and ensure quality and contract compliance.
  • Administer and optimize Office 365 licensing, SharePoint environments, and related collaboration tools.

Project & Budget Management

  • Oversee global IT projects such as local and international office moves from planning to implementation.
  • Control IT budgets, forecast costs, and ensure cost-effectiveness.
  • Drive enterprise-wide system upgrades, integrations, and digital transformation.

Stakeholder Engagement

  • Partner with business leaders to understand needs and propose IT solutions.
  • Act as a liaison between regional IT teams and corporate functions.

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience with enterprise IT architecture including cloud, hybrid and on-prem
  • Previous experience managing office relocation projects in collaboration with cross functional teams across an organisation
  • Proven experience with global cybersecurity standards and practices including developing training and awareness materials
  • ISO27001 and SOC2 auditing and certification experience
  • Strategic thinking and ability to work cross-culturally  
  • Supplier and vendor management experience including contract negotiation and  
  • Strong communication and influencing skills
