Meet the Team at Summize

Tom co-founded Summize alongside Chief Development Officer David Smith after experiencing first-hand the challenges legal teams face when working with complex contracts. A qualified lawyer by background, Tom began his career in sport and commercial law before moving in-house at technology companies, where he developed a strong interest in innovation and product-led problem solving.

Alongside Tom Dunlop, David founded Summize to meet the needs of legal teams everywhere. With over 30 years of experience in the IT and software development industry, David brings deep technical expertise and a practical, business-first mindset to Summize. Before co-founding the company, he worked at AppSense (later LANDESK and Ivanti), where the original idea for Summize first took shape.

Rachel brings over 20 years’ experience in finance across high-growth software businesses, having supported companies through pivotal stages of international expansion, investment and acquisition. Before joining Summize, she held senior finance roles at AppSense and Avecto, where she progressed alongside the businesses from early-stage growth through global scale, major funding rounds and eventual acquisition.

Alongside the founding team, Richard has played a central role in shaping Summize’s technology from its early days. With a career rooted in software development and technology leadership, he brings deep, hands-on experience alongside a strong belief in collaboration, curiosity and continuous learning.

Laura leads marketing at Summize with more than 20 years’ experience spanning B2C and B2B, with a deep specialism in high-growth technology businesses. Having worked across sectors including telecoms, IT services, cyber security and now legal tech, she brings a balance of creative storytelling and commercial understanding.

Christopher is Chief Revenue Officer at Summize, responsible for leading the company’s global go-to-market strategy across sales, marketing and revenue operations. With over a decade of experience scaling high-growth SaaS businesses, Christopher brings deep expertise in building repeatable revenue motions, aligning cross-functional teams and supporting sustainable, long-term growth.

Over 25 years of experience in building Marketing Technology Software Companies in Europe and the USA including Customer Data Platforms, Analytics and all aspects of client interaction.

As an Investment Director at Maven Capital, Jeremy has supported Summize with growth capital. He joined Maven in 2017, having previously worked as a corporate lawyer for Squire Patton Boggs; specializing in private equity, venture capital and acquisitions.

Mike joined Summize's board as part of the YFM investment team in October 2022. Mike joined YFM as an Investment Director in 2019 before being promoted to Partner in 2020. Before YFM he spent two years on the investment team at BGF.

Laura joined Summize's board as part of the YFM investment team in October 2022. She supports the partners in the origination of new growth capital and buyout opportunities, predominantly in the North West.

Originally the CEO and Chairman of Vistorm and AppSense, Charlie has significant experience in business growth and development. After successfully selling both companies, Charlie now sits on the boards of Summize and Intechnica.
